Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality dance lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, including beginners and advanced students
- Develop and implement engaging and challenging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technique and artistic expression
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to develop and implement integrated curriculum and performing arts programs

- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the educational process
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in dance education and continuously update and refine teaching methods and materials
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Dance or a related field, such as Education, Fine Arts, or Performing Arts
- Successful completion of all student teaching requirements and possession of a valid Illinois Educator License (PEL) with Grades K-8 endorsement in Dance
- Strong skill sets in teaching various genres of dance, including ballet, modern, jazz, and hip-hop
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians
- Wide-ranging intellectual and educational interests, with a commitment to equity and justice, including knowledge and skills related to cultural competencies
- Familiarity with new technologies and the ability to integrate technology into teaching practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Dance or a related field, such as Education, Fine Arts, or Performing Arts
- Experience teaching dance to students of all ages and skill levels, including beginners and advanced students
- Knowledge of contemporary principles and practices of teaching, including differentiated instruction and assessment
- Experience with integrated curriculum and performing arts programs, including collaboration with other teachers and staff members
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential
