As an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer, you will perform geotechnical engineering design and analysis for infrastructure projects, participate in field assignments, and work alongside experienced engineers and project managers.
Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical engineering design and analysis of foundation systems, retaining structures and slopes for transportation and water infrastructure projects for both public and private clients
- Participate in field assignments that will include observation of explorations (soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing); geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; and inspection of the construction of geotechnical structures (earth retaining structures, deep foundations, dams, tunnels, and shallow foundations), as well as oversight of subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs
Skills
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering or 0-2 years of experience
- Flexibility to travel for office and field assignments
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and geotechnical design software
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Previous internship in geotechnical evaluations soil and rock classification, design analysis of foundation and ground retention systems
- Knowledge of and experience with LPile, Shaft, Slide, Bentley gINT, Bentley MicroStation, and AutoCAD
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future
