Santa Barbara Foundation is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their accounting team within the Finance and Administration Department. The role involves supporting the Finance Department with day-to-day operations and special projects as requested.
Responsibilities
- Process cash receipts, including fund coding and batching
- Monitor bank accounts for activity daily and provide Donor Relations team with incoming wire specifications for gift entry
- Enter A/P invoices in FE NXT
- Prepare journal entries
- Update fee schedules and allocation pools related to Capital Preservation funds in FE
- Prepare monthly giving group reports and other fund reports ad hoc
- Prepare monthly budget to actual operating expense reports
- Reconcile Gifts/Grants between FE, RE and FC databases monthly
- Serve as a backup for Senior Accountant A/P processing and grant disbursement functions
- Serve as backup to Donor Relations team for gift recording
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly fund holder statements
- Assist in recordkeeping and reporting for external grants
- Keep MS Outlook calendar populated as per SBF standard
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
Skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance preferred
- Blackbaud Raiser's Edge (RE), Financial Edge (FE) and NPact Foundation Cloud (FC) experience is a plus
