REQUIREMENT ARCTOS is currently seeking a motivated, goal oriented, results driven UI/UX Designer to join our team in creating the overall user design for our Enterprise Management solution for Satellite Communications (SATCOM) on the USSF Kobayashi Maru DevSecOps platform. By practicing User Centered Design (UCD), designers act as an intelligent filter for user feedback and ensure that their teams tackle the highest value. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ARCTOS provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) services to support the Space Force's Space System Center (SSC) develop and acquire communications satellites, terminals, and control stations. These are essential for global secure, survivable, and protected communications for national security. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, developing apps that help ensure complex space and ground communications system satisfy user requirements. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS • Establish design guidelines, standards, and best practices • Maintain the appearance of visual elements by enforcing content standards • Design visual imagery for applications and ensure that they are in line with enterprise standards • Design sample pages including colors and fonts. • Test and improve the design. • Work in collaboration with UX and System Engineers to communicate design ideas using user flows, process flows, site maps, and wireframes. • Conceptualize creative ideas with clients. • 1-year experience with wireframing tools such as Figma, Balsamiq, Adobe XD, etc. • 1-year experience working in Agile teams and associated tools (JIRA, etc.) EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, digital graphic arts, or digital communications • Proficiency in front-end development web languages such as HTML and CSS, and JavaScript. • Familiarity with Google Material Design • Familiarity with Astro Space UXDS framework • Familiarity with programming in multiple languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.) • Familiarity with Angular framework, Golden Layouts framework • Familiarity with a US Government DevSecOps platform (Kobayashi Maru, Platform One, etc.) • Familiarity with SATCOM, spectral processing and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT • Primary work environment is a standard office setting and work within military operational communication sites. TRAVEL • Travel is less than 10% and will be performed will be under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
