About the position Role - Senior Manager, Government Affairs Location - Washington DC - Connecticut Street Hybrid - 4 days in office PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key government stakeholders, including on Capitol Hill and in the Executive Branch. Monitor and influence legislative and policy proposals and provide strategic counsel internally on potential impact to the business. Attend advocacy meetings, hearings, conferences, fundraisers, and other events on behalf of News Corp. Prepare briefings, talking points, and other materials to support News Corp executive leadership engagements with Members of Congress, Executive Branch officials, and other relevant senior stakeholders. Track and prepare briefing materials on new laws, regulations, and policy proposals of interest to News Corp. Prepare backgrounders, statements, lines of questioning, questions for the record, and other relevant information for congressional hearings. Work closely with internal teams, including legal, compliance, communications, and others to ensure internal alignment and execution on key policy priorities. Work as part of a small and nimble team to advance the goals of the company, and perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university. • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including working on Capitol Hill, the Executive Branch, a trade association, a political consulting firm, or within a company's government affairs department. • Strong knowledge of federal legislative rules, procedures, and processes. • Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships. • Outstanding research, writing, and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to distill and synthesize complex issues into clear and concise messages • Flexible team player with the ability to effectively prioritize concurrent projects, execute tasks, and meet deadlines while demonstrating professionalism. • Ability to work independently while demonstrating exceptional judgment and discretion.
