Senior Motion Designer, Brand

Remote Full-time
The Volume is a digital media company featuring some of the most influential names in sports and culture. We produce shows that bring together distinctive personalities and deliver original, high-quality content. The Creative team shapes the visual identity for The Volume across shows, campaigns, events, and partnerships. We lead the design of show branding, key art, social content, and merchandise, and decks. Our work builds systems that keep the brands consistent, flexible, and distinctive while raising the creative bar across all touchpoints. We’re looking for a hands-on Designer with strong motion capabilities to help shape the visual language of a growing sports-plus-culture network. You’ll create show identities, logos, key art, and dynamic assets across social, digital, and event touchpoints—bringing creative direction to life through cohesive visual systems, image-driven compositions, and motion. The role is rooted in craft, spanning identity, typography, image-making, and motion design to build clear, expressive worlds for our talent and shows. What You’ll Do: • Serve as a primary resource for owning and leading motion design execution across shows and brand work. • Design show identities and motion packages, including open/close, lower thirds, transitions, logos, key art, and social/digital content. • Design and support assets across platforms, including social, original content, brand decks, presentations, events, and marketing materials. • Source, edit, retouch, and composite imagery to create cohesive visual worlds that balance hosts, typography, and brand elements. • Collaborate closely with creative leadership, producers, editors, and cross-functional partners to interpret briefs, develop concepts, present work clearly, and incorporate feedback. • Apply strong motion and design judgment to elevate ideas beyond the initial ask while meeting strategic goals. • Work within established brand and motion systems while contributing to the evolution of guidelines and best practices. • Proactively identify motion needs and challenges, delivering scalable, repeatable solutions through custom and templated approaches. • Balance creative excellence with efficiency, managing multiple projects and deadlines at once. • Maintain organized project files, self-manage workload effectively, edit and retouch photos as needed, and stay current with industry trends. Who You Are: • 4–7 years of agency, in-house media role, or equivalent experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing brand-led motion design, and visual craft across platforms. • Proficient in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Figma. • Experience creating motion for social platforms, including evergreen content and campaigns. • Solid understanding of design fundamentals, including typography, composition, and visual storytelling. • Ability to understand project goals, prioritize effectively, and balance creative ambition with tight deadlines. • Clear communicator who can articulate motion and design decisions and incorporate feedback from creative leadership and partners. • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and reliable, producing consistent, polished work • Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative environments and managing multiple projects at once. • Familiarity with Premiere Pro, light 3D, Red Giant, audio, or AI-assisted tools is a plus. • Proactive learner who stays current design trends, with interest in sports, music, and culture. • This is a remote position. The salary range for this role is approximately $135,000. Compensation subject to experience and location. Published salary bands pursuant to transparency laws, and do not include possible variable compensation such as annual merit increases or bonus eligibility.
