Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals. The Global Procurement (GP) organization at United Airlines is responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services, as well as managing relationships with third-party suppliers. Our role is critical in driving operational efficiency by overseeing the entire procure-to-pay process and ensuring the strategic acquisition of goods and services essential to the airline's success. We are committed to optimizing costs, maintaining supplier quality, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and sustainability standards, all while supporting operational excellence and aligning with United's broader business objectives. As part of the Enablement Team within GP, we are seeking a Senior Analyst for Procurement Analytics. The role is critical in designing and optimizing data models to support business insights and decision-making. They analyze raw data, identify relationships, and develop structured models that ensure data consistency and efficiency. Working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and BI teams, they map source data, validate models, and maintain data governance standards. Their expertise enables the creation of scalable and accurate data structures, driving reliable analytics and reporting. Responsibilities • Collect, cleanse, classify, and analyze procurement data from multiple sources. • Develop conceptual, and logical data models. • Assess data quality and completeness before designing the model. • Analyze raw data to understand relationships, inconsistencies, and patterns. • Identify trends and anomalies in data; and normalize and deformalize data base don business needs. • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and reliability of procurement data for reporting and analytics. • Support data engineering techniques, leveraging cutting-edge tools like SQL Coding, Excel spreadsheets, to add efficiency and automation to reports and analysis. • Utilize data to provide meaningful insights and reports for stakeholders. • Educate stakeholders on using procurement dashboards and reports and interpreting data insights. • Automate data flows between procurement systems to enhance efficiency and reduce manual efforts. • Contribute to identifying and setting key performance metrics and ways to measure them (e.g. cost savings, supplier performance, spend under management, contract compliance, and cycle times). • Develop methods to calculate and report on key metrics, ensuring consistency and accuracy. • Design and deliver periodic reports to stakeholders, highlighting performance trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. • Support initiatives that lead to automation and process enhancement. • Monitor procurement performance through scorecards and assess adherence to SLAs and other contractual obligations. • Support project/initiatives by creating trackers, task managers, and projects management tools. • Lead or contribute to analytics-driven projects focused on system and data efficiency improvements. • Assist in defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables to ensure alignment with business goals. • Manage people relationships effectively with all key stakeholders across teams and divisions. • Lead meetings, set agendas, organize memos and notes, and task tracking. • Partner with cross-functional teams, including IT, Business Operations, and Category Managers, to align data processes with procurement objectives. • Support internal stakeholders by providing accurate insights and actionable recommendations. • Engage with business partners to identify data gaps and propose solutions for improving analytics capabilities. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Business, or related field. • 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, financial analytics, procurement analytics, or similar. • Knowledge of Python, SQL, coding language, and data transformation tools. • Experience with Power BI, and dashboards. • Strong Excel and Excel-Macro. • Experienced working with large datasets, ability to tell a story using data • Passionate about data analytics and visionary for how it can be applied • Understanding of procurement platforms such as Coupa, Ariba, Oracle ERP. • Good understanding of data warehouses and designing data models • Analytical mindset, strong problem-solving abilities • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner. • Good project management skills, and able to meet deadlines. • Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to details • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint • Highly structured with attention to details and result oriented.
