About the Role: Remote Middle School Educator As a Remote Middle School Educator on Outschool, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners. You'll be responsible for creating and teaching online classes that cater to the diverse interests and needs of middle school students. Key Responsibilities: Design and Deliver Engaging Classes: Create and teach online classes that are tailored to the needs and interests of middle school students. Set Your Own Schedule: As an Independent Contractor, you'll have the flexibility to set your own schedule and choose when you're available to teach. Communicate with Families: Provide prompt and professional communication with families, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely manner. Develop Your Own Curriculum: Use your expertise and creativity to develop class content that is engaging, informative, and fun. Utilize Technology Effectively: Leverage Outschool's online platform to deliver high-quality classes, using tools such as live video chat, screen sharing, and interactive whiteboards. Essential Qualifications: Age and Residency: You must be at least 18 years old and reside full-time in one of the eligible countries (USA, Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, or the UK). Expertise and Passion: You must have one or more areas of expertise or passion that you can base your classes around. Technical Requirements: You must have a reliable and fast internet connection (over 3Mbps upload and download) and the technical know-how to effectively run online classes. Language Skills: You must have a good command of written and spoken English. Background Check: You must be willing to verify your identity and pass a criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications: Teaching Experience: While not required, previous teaching experience is highly valued, particularly in a middle school setting. Curriculum Development: Experience in developing curriculum and lesson plans is a plus. Technical Skills: Familiarity with online teaching tools and platforms is an asset.
