[Remote] Global Algo Trading Engineering Lead/CTO

The role involves scaling and shaping the firm’s engineering organization and influencing the design, build, and delivery of trading systems across multiple markets and asset classes. Responsibilities • Define and evolve the technical architecture for trading platforms in partnership with engineering teams, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business priorities • Evaluate architectural trade-offs and present clear options, including cost, complexity, and delivery implications, to support sound decision-making • Establish objective performance and technical review processes to assess team effectiveness, identify constraints, and improve execution • Ensure engineering effort is focused on high-impact initiatives with measurable outcomes, avoiding unnecessary complexity or low-value work • Act as a bridge between business, trading, and engineering functions to translate requirements into actionable, well-scoped technical plans • Drive a culture of prioritization, pragmatic design, and continuous simplification across systems and processes Skills • At least 5 years of experience in senior technical or engineering leadership roles within algorithmic trading or financial-markets environments, preferably on the buy side • Demonstrated ownership of system architecture and delivery for complex, production-grade platforms • Experience designing or overseeing end-to-end trading platforms, including components such as execution engines, connectivity, OMS/EMS, and market-data systems • A mindset focused on return on investment, efficiency, and outcome-driven development • Proven ability to manage technical performance and lead teams through data-driven evaluation • Strong communication skills and experience working closely with senior stakeholders in a distributed, remote-first environment • Broad exposure to multiple trading-platform architectures across asset classes or strategy types Benefits • The chance to work in a globally distributed, technology-focused trading firm • Collaboration with highly experienced professionals from leading trading firms • Meaningful opportunities for professional growth and long-term ownership. • Fully remote work with flexible scheduling. • Competitive base salary and bonuses • Liberal terms Company Overview • DTG Finance and Capital Markets is a boutique recruitment firm focusing on Electronic Trading domain, especially Quantitative Trading (Research, Trading, Portfolio Management and related Technology/IT positions).
