[Remote] Designer - Security - Mission Critical

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. TEECOM is a consulting engineering firm that specializes in making technology work in buildings. They are seeking an entry-level Designer to join their production team, where the individual will learn Revit and assist with various design tasks while collaborating with senior designers and participating in training programs. Responsibilities Learn the building design process and the pursuit process Attend client meetings with senior technical staff members and prepare meeting notes documenting relevant decisions and discussions Prepare Revit models and/or AutoCAD drawings Assist with specification preparation and design calculations Research technical product information Assist other technical staff members with job site inspections to determine existing conditions and extent of progress made by contractors Perform delegated tasks from senior staff Attend and contribute to internal team, discipline, and project meetings Regularly document, update, and maintain team-related processes, workflows, and best practices. Actively initiate and participate in discussions about project challenges, process improvements, and other topics that enhance internal documentation and contribute to the team’s success and collaboration Perform other work-related duties as assigned Ensure timesheets/expense reports are accurate and up-to-date daily Achieve billed revenue target each quarter Skills BS in Engineering (electrical preferred) or equivalent experience Organization: Keep track of multiple projects and client and team member requests, often on a last-minute basis with excellent follow-up to assure promises are kept Documentation: Thoroughly documents, updates, and maintains process documentation, notes, and decisions across appropriate platforms to ensure workflows, processes, and discussions are accessible and up-to-date Communication: Conduct business communications in an effective, professional, and concise manner, both verbally and in written formats, and in one-on-one, small-group, and large-group settings Teamwork: Work as a functional member of a team and successfully work with other teams and business functions to achieve positive results Problem Solving: Approach problems using a methodical and logical method to create a workable solution Software: Use software applications effectively and efficiently (G Suite, MS Office, Bluebeam, Slack, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, Bluebeam Studio, etc.) to communicate and deliver work products Process Oriented: Follow processes, continually seek to make processes more efficient, enforce processes, and conduct root cause analyses that lead to the update or creation of processes Learn the building design process and the pursuit process Attend client meetings with senior technical staff members and prepare meeting notes documenting relevant decisions and discussions Prepare Revit models and/or AutoCAD drawings Assist with specification preparation and design calculations Research technical product information Assist other technical staff members with job site inspections to determine existing conditions and extent of progress made by contractors Perform delegated tasks from senior staff Attend and contribute to internal team, discipline, and project meetings Regularly document, update, and maintain team-related processes, workflows, and best practices Perform other work-related duties as assigned Ensure timesheets/expense reports are accurate and up-to-date daily Achieve billed revenue target each quarter Knowledge of the AEC industry and the design and construction process are a plus Construction industry or equivalent experience is a plus Autodesk (AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus Bluebeam Studio is a plus EIT is a plus CDT is a plus Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their dependents Basic and voluntary life insurance Short-term and long-term disability coverage A 401(k) plan with profit-sharing contributions Paid parental leave Lifestyle and legal benefits Pet benefits Performance-based bonuses Flexible time off Nine scheduled paid holidays Company Overview TEECOM is a global technology design, engineering, project management, and R&D firm headquartered in California.
