The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) plays a crucial role in managing sales in an assigned territory within the Neighborhood Independent Pet channel. This position is instrumental in developing and executing sales strategies that drive the attainment of sales, profitability, and brand presence goals. The role will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Sales. Responsibilities: • Develop, implement, and manage sales strategies for Neighborhood Pet (Independent Channel) to drive sales and strengthen brand presence. • Cultivate relationships with retailer stakeholders to influence decision-making and product placement. • Manage quarterly and annual budgets, ensuring accounts meet or exceed targets. • Utilize key levers to maximize brand awareness, differentiation, and sales within accounts. • Manage daily sales operations within the assigned territory, ensuring alignment with sales plans. • Conduct regular sales calls, implement promotional plans, and introduce new products. • Regular communication with partner distributors. • Conduct product, nutritional training, and best practices on a regular basis. • Optimize promotional spending. • Review and approve chargebacks and pursue collaborative funding. • Track sales processes and develop action plans based on data and provide regular activity and sales performance reports. • Communicate changes to products, policies, and pricing structure to partner retailers. • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes. • Represent the company professionally in all interactions with customers, partners, and stakeholders Requirements • Desired Experience and Skills: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales or business. • Proven ability to drive sales. • 5+ years of sales or account management experience, preferably in the pet food, CPG industry. • Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and forecasting tools. • Ability to analyze sales data and develop actionable insights. • Excellent communication, presentation, and time-management skills. • Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned region. • Flexibility to work a minimum of 50 hours per week as needed to maximize objectives.
