Online Nursing Adjunct Instructor

On-Line Nursing Instructor to provide updated and fully prepared instruction to students and actively engage in retention activities and manage the online classroom. FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Teach specialty courses as assigned by the National Dean of On-Line Nursing Education • Utilize a variety of supplementary resources (i.e., instructional technology, guest speakers, current articles and literature, discipline specific equipment, etc.). • Actively engage in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress including but not limited to individual tutoring, small group content review. • Submit assigned grading and attendance documentation on deadline. • Provide assistance for the planning, development, and maintenance of program curriculum. • Work with the National Dean of On-Line Nursing Education, On-Line Advisor and campus Dean of Nursing to resolve student concerns. • Grade tests, projects, and other assignments in a required timeframe. • Record and maintain accurate student grade records. • Is aware of the school catalog, faculty handbook, Nursing Student Handbook and understands all the procedures and expectations stated within it as well as policies stated therein. • Participate in the evaluation of textbooks and other instructional materials. • Submit final grades by established deadline. • Perform start and end-of-the term procedures including preparing the course for the next term. • Provide annual documentation of continuing professional growth. • Attend scheduled company meetings, in-service workshops and faculty meetings and incorporate learned concepts into classroom instruction. • Participate in Advisory Board activities. • Adhere to and support school policies and procedures as referenced in the employee handbook, faculty handbook, and catalog. • Perform such other duties as may be specified by the National Dean of On-Line Nursing Education. Performance is based on the employee's ability to: • Demonstrate job knowledge • Achieve satisfactory retention & course outcome rates • Achieve satisfactory student evaluation scores • Demonstrate organization and planning • Use strong communication skills • Show initiative/dependability/reliability • Work as a team player Instructor must complete/submit and update each year the following documents to support appropriate instructional qualifications: • Resume • All official required licensures and certifications to teach content areas • Faculty Development Plan & Summary • Other state or accrediting agency forms as applicable The education of the students is ultimately the responsibility of the instructor. If we are to provide quality education to our students; the level of instruction and professionalism of the instructor must be maintained at the highest level possible. Licensure as a Registered Nurse for 4 years required. A mimimum of one year experience working in the clinical area or certifications in the specialty areas of maternal-newborn, pediatrics, mental health, geriatrics, community or nursing leadership and managment. Master's of Science - Nursing required with Doctorate Degree preferred. Prior post-secondary online teaching experience preferred. Apply tot his job
