Laboratory Technician -- Cell Culture

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Technician with hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, preferably with primary tissue-derived cancer organoids. The successful candidate will support ongoing translational research projects by maintaining cell cultures, preparing samples, and performing routine assays to advance preclinical models of cancer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory techniques and a passion for scientific research. This role involves working with various cell cultures and adhering to strict quality control standards. The Cell Culture Technician will play a crucial role in supporting research and development initiatives within our laboratory. Responsibilities • Prepare media, reagents, and extracellular matrix scaffolds required for organoid culture. • Conduct experiments following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP). • Execute quality control procedures to ensure the integrity of experimental results. • Collect and analyze data accurately, documenting findings in accordance with laboratory protocols. • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing research projects and development initiatives. • Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring a clean and organized workspace. • Monitor culture health and growth through microscopy and routine assessments. • Conduct basic downstream assays (e.g., viability, proliferation, immunostaining, imaging). • Accurately record experimental data, maintain lab notebooks, and follow established SOPs. • Collaborate with scientists to support experimental workflows, including drug testing studies. • Ensure compliance with biosafety and ethical standards in handling human-derived materials. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field preferred; relevant laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of degree. • Demonstrated hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture; experience with primary cells and/or cancer organoids strongly preferred. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively. • Familiarity with aseptic technique and standard laboratory equipment (biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, microscopes, incubators). • Experience in tissue dissociation, 3D culture systems, or extracellular matrices (e.g., Matrigel®) is a plus. • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accurate record-keeping. • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. • Previous experience in an industrial or research laboratory setting is highly desirable.
