The Data Scientist - RWE Is Responsible For Generating Real-World Evidence (RWE) Through Advanced Analytics And Innovative Approaches In The Clinical Trial Space. The Data Scientist Will Be Part Of The Scientific Affairs Team. The Candidate Must Have A Strong Desire To Influence Internal And External Decision-Making Through The Use Of New Data Sciences And Technologies. In This Role, You Will Perform Sophisticated Data Analysis To Answer Critical Business Questions. This Role Reports To The Director Of Clinical Data Science

 Job Responsibility

• Mine Raw Data Sets To Deliver Standardized, Analyzed Patient Cohorts From Proprietary Data Assets Or Licensed Platforms, Analyze And Interpret Results, And Help Shape Analytics Strategy.


• Collaborate With Other Members Of The Walgreens Clinical Trial Team To Provide Actionable Insights From Real-World, Clinical, And Other Data Sources To Support Biopharmaceutical RWE And Clinical Trial Applications.


• Potential Efforts Include Analysis Of Unmet Needs, Safe And Effective Therapy For Certain Disease States, Treatments And The Economic Burden Of Health Care, And Cost-Effectiveness Modeling.


• Clean, Transform, And Store Data In An Integrated Data Lake For Future Analysis And Wider Team Consumption


• Performs Data Mining And Statistical Analysis For RWE/RWD Analysis To Find New Insights Into Patient Populations And Treatment Outcomes


• It Supports The Development Of Real-Time Data, Analytics, And Platform Capabilities, Leveraging Advanced Analytics And Tools To Answer Biopharma Companies' Scientific Questions.


• Collaborates In Designing And Implementing Outcome Research Studies


• It Ensures High-Quality, Accurate, And Easy-To-Interpret Outputs From RWE Studies And Analyses


• Creates Dashboards, Analytics, And Reports For Internal And External Consumption


• Conducts Due Diligence On New Actual Suppliers And Manages RWD Quality Assessments To Inform Investment Decisions

 Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Or Graduate Degree And At Least 4 Years Of Experience In A Quantitative Or Computing Function


• 4 Years Of Experience In R, Python, Or SQL.


• Experience Designing And Implementing Robust And Reproducible Statistical Analyzes In The Context Of Epidemiology And Observational Research With Health Data


• Knowledge Of Common Statistical Testing Methods Including General Linear Models, Classification And Discrimination, Decision Trees, Unsupervised Learning, Time Series Analysis, And Survival Analysis.


• Experience In Processing Large Amounts Of Data From Various Data Sources


• Experience Managing Protected Patient Health Information


• Knowledge Of At Least One Of The Following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, Or Other Intelligent BI Tools

• Expertise In Clinical Data Standards, Medical Terminology, And Controlled Vocabularies Used In Health Data And Ontologies (ICD9/10/Readcode)


• Experience With Good Clinical Practice (GCP) And/Or Compliance Guidelines For Evidence-Based Or Clinical Trials (e.g. ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR)


• Experience Working With Alternative Data Sources And Alternative Methods For Clinical Data Collection, Particularly Those Enabled By Technology Platforms And/Or Solutions.


• Experience In Experimental Design, Bayesian Modeling, Sequential Data, Computational Statistics


• Understanding Of Statistics And Machine Learning Methods, Ability To Independently Learn Technical And Non-Technical Skills
