Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Buffalo Public Schools. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct instructional services to students under the supervision of certified teachers. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with special instructional projects
- Assist teachers in developing learning experiences and providing feedback
- Utilize special skills and abilities to support instructional programs in areas such as foreign language, arts, and music
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents
- Attend to the physical needs of students as needed
- Participate in professional learning opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- Hold a temporary license, continuing certificate, or Level I, II, III, or Para-Professional certificate
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Pass the Assessment of Teaching Assistant Skills Tests (ATAS) or Liberal Arts and Sciences Test (LAST)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse population
