The Town of Whitby is dedicated to its community and is seeking a Camp Counsellor to positively impact its corporate culture. The successful candidate will supervise children, lead activities, and ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all campers.
Responsibilities
- Supervising and working with groups of children, or one-on-one
- Leading campers through a number of activities including games, sports and crafts
- Promote a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for all campers and staff
- Ensuring the safety of all campers by providing emergency or first-aid assistance when required
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR “C” certifications
- A valid Police Criminal Record Check to work with the Vulnerable Sector
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Past work or volunteer experience assisting children with special needs
- Completion of a C.I.T Certificate or L.I.T Certificate will be considered an asset
- Enrollment in a Pre-Service Firefighter Program would be considered an asset
