Role overview
The Social Media Creative Designer at CapsLock is responsible for producing visually engaging digital content tailored for social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. This role combines graphic design expertise with foundational video editing skills to create impactful static and short-form video content. Working closely with the social media team, the designer ensures all visuals align with brand guidelines, support marketing goals, and stay ahead of design and platform trends.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and develop visual content for social media platforms based on brand guidelines and project objectives.
- Create and present drafts and creative concepts for team feedback and stakeholder approval.
- Edit short-form video content, such as: Instagram Reels, TikToks, Stories, including captions, transitions, music, voiceovers, and visual effects.
- Ensure all graphics and videos are visually compelling, brand-aligned, and optimized for platform-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with the social media team to review performance data and iterate based on insights.
- Stay current on design trends, platform updates, and emerging formats to keep content fresh and relevant.
- Optimize assets for each platform, ensuring correct dimensions, aspect ratios, and quality settings.
- Maintain an organize digital asset library with proper version control.
- Work cross-functionally with other teams for consistent creative execution across campaigns.
Requirements
Must-Have Requirements
- 3+ years of professional design experience, focused on digital and social media content.
- Strong portfolio showcasing both static designs and short-form video content.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Basic video editing skills using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
- Excellent written communication skills—especially important in a remote-first environment.
- Strong visual storytelling ability and attention to layout, composition, and detail.
- Understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) and best practices for each.
- Ability to create content aligned with brand guidelines and marketing goals.
- Results-driven mindset—designs should support measurable performance outcomes.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Familiarity with Figma
- Familiarity with motion graphics or animation.
- Experience with social media editing software
- Experience producing content for influencer campaigns or branded collaborations.
- Exposure to AI-powered design tools or content automation platforms.
- Knowledge of social media algorithms and engagement strategies.
- Background in digital marketing or performance-based creative development.
