About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Software Engineer to join our App Buy's Team, empowering customers throughout their shopping journey to seamlessly complete their purchases. As a driven leader passionate about delivering exceptional software and enhancing customer experience, you'll leverage your expertise in native app development to steer and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of in-depth mobile initiatives surrounding upper-funnel capabilities such as homepage, sales, category, authentication, and landing stories, along with architecting and developing new features, software protection, refactoring, and accelerated performance and automation.
- Review code and provide guidance to other developers participating in our launch approval system, ensuring high-quality engineering practices.
- Collaborate with various teams, including UX, backend/API, product, analytics, and others to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
- Use data and metrics to drive impactful changes, enhancing the overall customer experience.
- Mentor and share knowledge with team members through tech talks, shows, and code reviews, promoting a culture of excellence.
Essential Qualifications
- At least 2+ years of professional Android development experience on publicly available apps.
- A passion for writing clean, readable, and well-tested code, with a willingness to share knowledge with others.
- Mastery of Android basics, interacting with endpoints, debugging, and memory control.
- Experience in architecting or designing complex features with product managers or other stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of architecture patterns (e.g., MVP, MVVM, Clean/VIPER) and async patterns.
- Ability to learn new libraries and technologies, staying on the cutting edge of the evolving mobile landscape.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Graphlet.
- Knowledge of Ruby or similar scripting languages.
- Experience working with iOS and/or full-stack development.
