Key Responsibilities
As a Remote Part-time Law Student Clerk, you'll be responsible for:
- Assisting with drafting and reviewing legal documents, including memoranda, briefs, and other correspondence
- Conducting legal research and investigating facts to support casework, utilizing online resources and databases
- Monitoring and ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations, staying up-to-date on relevant law and policy developments
- Managing and organizing client information, maintaining accurate and confidential records
- Providing daily work updates to ensure seamless communication and collaboration with the team
- Attending weekly team meetings to stay connected and informed about ongoing projects and initiatives
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- Current enrollment in a J.D. program (preferred)
- Familiarity with Virginia administrative law and/or disability law (a plus, but not required)
- Good research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex information and communicate effectively
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with experience using online research databases and tools
