The role involves assessing aesthetic quality, usability, and geospatial accuracy of digital map designs and location suggestions based on defined project guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the aesthetic quality, readability, and overall polish of digital map designs
- Assess user-focused elements like viewport framing, geospatial accuracy, and content relevance
- Review personalized location recommendations to ensure relevance and helpfulness
- Follow strict project instructions and complete tasks accurately, including tagging specific issues (e.g., “Icons not properly masked,” “Labels too small”)
Skills
- Proficient in English (US) and based in the United States
- Professional Design Background: Proven experience in Visual Design, UI/UX, or Graphic Design
- Proficient iPhone/iOS user, as the current focus is on the mobile experience
- An existing, actively used Gmail account with prior usage history on Google Maps
- Exceptional ability to follow strict instructions and identify Trust & Safety violations
- Opt-in consent to allow access to limited activity history for task personalization
- Familiarity with geospatial tools or evaluation interfaces (e.g., Tileworks or side-by-side interfaces) is a plus
