We're seeking a skilled and experienced Jockey Driver to join our collaborative team and drive success in our operations.
About the Role
As a Remote Jockey Driver, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of trailers to and from dock doors, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This 100% remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, while being an integral part of our team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Move trailers to and from dock doors based on instructions from supervisors or the shipping office, while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure the cleanliness and adequate fueling of trailers, and perform daily inspections on spotter truck and equipment.
- Check/set trailer and yard temperature, add fuel if needed, and report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages to the vehicles and/or equipment.
- Maintain logs of trailer movements and fuel, and communicate with appropriate departments on daily movements of trailers.
- Check trailer inventory and report any irregularities on log forms, and perform sanitation duties on trailers as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A minimum of 6 months of experience operating tractor trailers and/or heavy equipment.
- The ability to understand instructions in the country's official language or as defined by Lineage Logistics.
- The physical ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs./18 kgs.; weight may be more dependent upon facility.
- A flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.
