Title:
Electric Guitar CAD / CNC Design for Production (Fusion 360)
Description:
I am developing a professional solid body electric guitar for production and am looking for an experienced CAD designer who understands both guitar design and CNC manufacturing.
This is not a concept-only project. The design, specifications, and layout direction are already established. I am now moving into the engineering phase to create an accurate 3D model and manufacturing-ready files for CNC and OEM production.
I need someone who can properly translate the design into a production-ready model with correct geometry, alignment, and real-world build considerations.
Key Requirements:
• Experience with electric guitar design (scale length, intonation, bridge placement, neck pocket geometry)
• Strong understanding of CNC machining and manufacturing constraints
• Ability to create clean, organized, production-ready CAD files
• Experience preparing files for CAM and/or overseas manufacturing preferred
Project Scope:
• Refine and validate existing design geometry
• Develop full 3D model (body, neck interface, hardware layout)
• Ensure correct scale length, string alignment, and tolerances
• Prepare files suitable for CNC machining and production
Deliverables:
• Parametric Fusion 360 (.f3d) or SolidWorks native file
• STEP file (.step / .stp) – full 3D solid model
2D DXF Files (aligned to centerline):
• Body outline
• Neck pocket
• Pickup cavities
• Control cavity
• Bridge and hardware hole locations
• Headstock profile
Documentation:
• Fully dimensioned drawing package (PDF)
• Defined centerline and reference geometry
• Recommended manufacturing tolerances
• Depth table for cavities and key contours
Additional Expectations:
• Validate scale length, bridge placement, and intonation range
• Verify string alignment from nut through bridge
• Ensure accurate neck pocket geometry and fitment
• Make design adjustments as needed for manufacturability
I will provide reference drawings, specifications, and design direction.
This project will move directly into prototype manufacturing and may lead to ongoing work.
Important:
Please include examples of guitar-related work or CNC-based instrument projects.
