Job Description:
• Lead transaction execution for tax equity and preferred equity investments, including negotiations with sponsors, investors, and external advisors.
• Prepare and present investment opportunities to Investment Committee, highlighting economics, structural terms, risks, and mitigants.
• Oversee and review financial models developed by team members; provide guidance on assumptions, sensitivities, and risk cases.
• Collaborate with Legal, Tax, and Risk teams to resolve key issues and ensure compliance with IRS rules, safe harbor tests, and recapture protections.
• Adept at managing client relationships on both sides of the market — developers/sponsors and investors — ensuring clear communication and smooth execution.
• Support business development by identifying opportunities to scale programmatic relationships with high-quality sponsors and investors.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, providing training on modeling, execution, and best practices.
• Use technology and AI-enabled tools to streamline diligence, negotiations, and investment committee preparation.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA, JD, or advanced degree a plus.
• Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in renewable energy, structured finance, or infrastructure investing, with direct experience leading tax equity transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate transaction documents (partnership flips, T-flips, preferred equity structures; sale-leaseback a plus).
• Strong financial modeling skills and ability to review/analyze complex partnership models.
• Deep understanding of IRS requirements, safe harbor rules, allocation methodologies, and recapture provisions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong capabilities or desire to rapidly advance leveraging technology and AI to enhance investment execution and portfolio management.
• FINRA SIE, Series 79 and 63 required or willingness to obtain under Crux’s broker-dealer sponsorship.
