Overview Postgraduate Research Student Administrator (Part Time 29.60 hours per week; Permanent) reports to the Deputy Vice Chancellor. Harper Adams University is looking to recruit a part‑time Postgraduate Research Student Administrator providing administrative support for the University’s postgraduate research students from point of application to graduation. In collaboration with the Director of Postgraduate Research and the Postgraduate Research Student Advisor, the postholder helps deliver the University’s aim to provide an excellent student experience for the postgraduate research students. Responsibilities Provide administrative support for the postgraduate research student lifecycle from application through to graduation. Coordinate and support processes in collaboration with the Director of Postgraduate Research and the Postgraduate Research Student Advisor. Demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work accurately under pressure, balancing diverse tasks across the entire student lifecycle. Utilise ICT skills, including substantial experience of multiuser databases. Maintain professional and proactive client service with excellent oral and written communication. Communicate effectively with a wide range of staff and individuals from various backgrounds and nationalities. Be flexible and adaptable, including occasional evening or weekend work during periods of short‑term exceptional workload. Possess a first degree or suitable experience in a similar role. Have previous experience of higher education administration. Qualifications and Skills Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work accurately under pressure, including balancing diverse tasks across the student lifecycle. Evidence of self-motivation with the confidence to take initiative and work autonomously with limited direction. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff and individuals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
