Job Title: Senior Linux Engineer/Architect

Role Overview:
• Lead large-scale Linux remediation and security initiatives in complex enterprise environments
• Architect scalable solutions for legacy Linux challenges, including hundreds of thousands of service accounts
• Define Linux strategy, standards, and tooling in collaboration with automation and operations teams
• Act as the senior technical authority for Linux architecture, security, and remediation efforts
Key Responsibilities
• Architect and lead enterprise-wide Linux remediation programs across large RHEL environments
• Design scalable frameworks to identify, secure, and manage legacy Linux service accounts at scale
• Define and enforce Linux security standards, service account policies, and remediation guidelines
• Establish best practices for service account lifecycle management and privilege reduction
• Lead automated discovery, inventory, and ownership identification of legacy accounts
• Partner with automation teams to design and review Ansible-based remediation and enforcement workflows
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and direction to Linux engineers and automation resources
• Identify and remediate high-risk configurations (sudo access, interactive shells, insecure credentials)
• Drive adoption of least-privilege access and non-interactive service account models
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to align remediation with business goals
• Support incident response and resolve complex Linux access, permission, and service-related issues
• Define monitoring, auditing, and compliance mechanisms to ensure ongoing Linux security posture
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Linux engineering and architecture (RHEL preferred)
• Strong expertise in Linux user, group, and service account management
• Proven experience designing solutions for large-scale, legacy Linux environments
• Deep knowledge of Linux security concepts including sudo, PAM, SSH, permissions, and access controls
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible preferred)
• Ability to design scalable remediation strategies, not one-off fixes
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex Linux systems and access issues
• Experience working closely with security and compliance teams
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Nice to Have
• Experience with centralized identity solutions (LDAP, Active Directory integration)
• Exposure to secrets management or credential vaulting solutions
• Familiarity with audit, compliance, and enterprise security initiatives
• Prior experience leading large-scale Linux remediation or hardening programs
