Job Summary:
We're seeking a compassionate and experienced professional to join our team as a Part-Time Navigator. In this role, you will:
- Develop trust and rapport with clients, working closely with parents to identify available supports and develop personalized action plans
- Provide resources and guidance to families, facilitating monthly Boost calls and communicating regularly through our app
- Attend meetings, such as IEPs, IPPs, and Self-Determination meetings, to support parents and advocate for their needs
- Maintain accurate records, capturing notes after client calls and performing administrative duties as needed
- Promote Undivided's mission, voice, and culture of inclusivity, upholding our values and contributing to our goal of empowering families
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- At least three years of personal experience or two years of professional experience navigating systems, including special education, Regional Center, Medi-Cal, IHSS, and/or CCS
- A minimum of one year of experience providing services to families of children with disabilities or directly to children with disabilities
- Bachelor's or master's-level training in social work, education, special education, human resources, counseling, nursing, or a family support-related field (preferred)
- Critical thinking skills, resourcefulness, and flexibility, with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- A practical understanding of at least one key California system, such as special education, Regional Center, Medi-Cal, and/or health insurance
- Ability to show warmth and appreciation of human growth, understanding the process of gaining trust and credibility with individuals and families
