Job Summary
The Internal Auditor will work closely with the Internal Audit Manager to complete required audits to ensure the institution is compliant with internal policies and procedures and banking regulations.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provides the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors with an independent assessment of the Bank’s governance, risk management and control processes
- Performs financial, operational, and compliance audits in accordance with the internal audit program and audit schedule to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the bank’s internal controls
- Maintains, revises and updates internal audit programs and work papers
- Communicates with personnel and management throughout the Bank to conduct thorough audits for each audit engagement
- Travels to all locations within the bank’s markets to conduct location-specific audits
- Organizes audit findings and creates management and Audit Committee reports
- Presents audit findings and recommendations to the Audit Committee and maintains minutes for the Audit Committee meetings
- Communicates corrective action resulting from audit findings to management
- Tracks audit findings in a timely manner to ensure they have been adequately addressed
