Role Description
Northwest Connections is hiring Mental Health Crisis Workers to provide 24/7 telephone crisis support for individuals experiencing mental health emergencies. This remote, part-time role focuses on crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and behavioral health support in compliance with Wisconsin DHS 34 and Chapter 51.
• Respond to mental health crisis and suicide prevention hotline calls
• Conduct risk assessments and determine appropriate interventions
• Provide emotional support, crisis counseling, and referrals
• Document services in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Work independently while collaborating with the crisis response team
Schedule & Availability
• Part-time: minimum 3 shifts per week
• A minimum of 4 shifts per month must fall on a Saturday or Sunday.
• 2 holiday shifts per year required
• Evening and overnight shifts available:
• 3pm–11pm
• 4pm–12am
• 9pm–3am
• 10pm–6am
• 11pm–7am
Pay & Shift Differentials
• $21.00/hour
• +$2.65/hour weekend differential
• +$3.00/hour for shifts starting at 9pm, 10pm, or 11pm
Work Location

• Must reside in Wisconsin
• Requires personal computer, high-speed internet, and private workspace

Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in mental health, behavioral health, or crisis services
• Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Strong skills in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and multitasking
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with computers and EHR systems
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure, emergency situations
