We are a U.S.-based ecommerce company looking for a senior Google Analytics (GA4) expert with deep experience implementing GA4 on Shopify stores.
This role is focused on correct setup, configuration, and validation of Google Analytics—not just installing a tracking code. We want an expert who understands Shopify ecommerce data, GA4 event architecture, and how to make analytics actionable.
This is not a beginner role.
Responsibilities
• Implement Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on a Shopify store
• Configure enhanced ecommerce tracking for Shopify, including:
• Product views
• Add to cart
• Checkout steps
• Purchases and revenue
• Set up and validate GA4 events, parameters, and conversions
• Configure Google Tag Manager (GTM) if required
• Ensure accurate tracking across:
• Desktop and mobile
• All Shopify checkout steps
• Link and configure:
• Google Ads
• Google Search Console (if applicable)
• Test and validate data accuracy (no duplicate or missing events)
• Provide clear documentation and guidance for ongoing use
Required Qualifications (U.S.-Only)
• U.S.-based freelancer (required)
• 5+ years of Google Analytics experience
• Strong hands-on experience with GA4 + Shopify
• Deep understanding of:
• GA4 ecommerce events and parameters
• Shopify checkout and purchase tracking
• Google Tag Manager
• Ability to explain analytics clearly to non-technical teams
• Experience setting up analytics that drive business decisions, not just dashboards
• Shopify Plus experience
• Experience with conversion tracking for paid media
• Knowledge of Shopify apps that impact tracking
• Experience auditing and fixing broken GA4 setups
