Key Responsibilities
As a volunteer crisis counselor with blithequark, your key responsibilities will include:

Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this volunteer opportunity, you must:
- Be at least 19 years old
- Be a sophomore or junior undergraduate or graduate student in the field of psychology or social work
- Have a strong interest in working with youth who are bullied, cyberbullied, and who may be at risk for suicide
- Be patient, detail-oriented, and thorough, with excellent communication skills
- Be tech-savvy and have your own computer with a high-speed connection (working from mobile devices is not permitted)
- Be able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of volunteering, with a minimum of 12 hours per month (including 3 four-hour evening shifts)
- Be able to attend two online training sessions and participate in ongoing supervision and training
- Be able to read, write, and fluently converse in English (having a second language is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working with youth who are bullied, cyberbullied, and who may be at risk for suicide
- Background in crisis counseling, psychology, or social work
- Experience working in a virtual environment and using web-based platforms
