We are seeking an exceptional Staff Data Scientist to lead critical cross-functional projects for both energy and automotive businesses. As a Staff Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will utilize data science tools and methods to drive business process automations and support sales and service strategies. Your expertise in data analysis, modeling, and visualization will be instrumental in helping us make informed decisions and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to all phases of data science projects, from interpreting complex business problems into data science issues to performing data analysis and modeling, and providing solutions to the business.
- Design and maintain complex data pipelines, supporting our team's mission in democratizing data and enabling a data-driven organization, in collaboration with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Machine Learning (ML) Specialists, and Product Managers.
- Develop and apply statistical models and NLP techniques, such as topic modeling, sentiment analysis, text classification, text summarization, and more, to extract valuable insights and patterns from text data.
- Communicate and visualize the results and insights of data analysis in a clear and concise manner, effectively conveying complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Summarize customer journey and conversations with fundamental or fine-tuned large language models (LLM)
- Build models to guide our customer lifecycle management.
- Collaborate closely with management, engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver significant business insights, leveraging your expertise in data science to drive business growth and improvement.
- Apply various ML, advanced analytics, and visualization techniques to diverse datasets across the organization, extracting insights and identifying opportunities for growth and optimization.
Essential Qualifications
- MS or 3+ years of equivalent experience in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Applied Math, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Economics, or Engineering).
- Results-oriented mindset with strong analytical and in-depth data science skills, including proficiency in SQL and Python, particularly in standard data science libraries and frameworks like pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, Tensorflow/PyTorch, PySpark, and more.
- Proven track record of extracting data insights and building ML models, particularly in business analytics (or related) space, with a strong ability to uplevel the team's ML capabilities in at least one significant area (e.g., forecasting, predictive modeling, descriptive analytics, or Natural Language Processing (NLP)).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization, conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and time management skills, with the ability to self-start and work independently in an unstructured environment, navigating ambiguity and bringing structure to unclear problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js, and proficiency in at least one data visualization tool, such as Scene, Streamlit, etc.
- Expertise in data wrangling and analyzing large and complex datasets, structured or unstructured, with a strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
- Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of business operations and the ability to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
