Job Overview
The Senior Technical Product Engineer will be responsible for supporting and enabling business transformation by working closely with our Business Analysts, IT teams, and stakeholders to identify, document, and implement API requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Business and IT teams to identify and document API requirements, develop test scenarios for automated test suites, and create documentation for API consumers
- Gather, develop, design, and maintain business requirements for various projects and systems from inception to final implementation, ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Investigate, prioritize, and maintain production systems, programs, and applications, providing support and communication of project status reports and follow-up
- Implement effective project cycles and expectations to shorten the project lifecycle, where applicable
- Work with application support and development teams to resolve software bugs and issues, leading the resolution of problems with connected systems based on various technologies
- Participate in regular project status reviews and convert high-level Customer Requirements into executable, detailed Customer Stories to enable development
- Create and maintain product backlogs, lead planning meetings with teams to prioritize work in upcoming sprints, and ensure product awareness and status at key stages of the delivery cycle
- Develop communication materials and lead communication efforts around the product, priorities, and future roadmaps
- Join and lead design meetings with the product team, embracing diverse individuals, thinking, and styles
Essential Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Experience in API practice/programming at a large organization, with a strong background in discovery, identification, and documentation of APIs
- Ability to work with multiple IT and business teams to gather and report API requirements, connecting directly and daily with delivery teams to implement projects
- Technical expertise to apply relevant technical processes to appropriate business needs, with experience in creating requirements and test scenarios for digital test suites for APIs
- Proficiency in Agile or other rapid application development methodologies, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with management, staff, and clients
- Ability to work independently to achieve outstanding results, delivering quality work on time and translating planning into action by following established procedures or philosophies
- A strong focus on safety and security, of self, others, and personal data, with a commitment to embracing diverse individuals, thinking, and styles
