Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate part-time adjunct instructor to join our FSI Online Certificate Program team. As an adjunct instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of the next generation of leaders in the faith and sports community. You will be responsible for facilitating online courses, providing feedback and guidance to students, and contributing to the growth and development of the FSI program.
Responsibilities
As an adjunct instructor with the FSI Online Certificate Program, your key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching and Facilitating Online Courses: You will be responsible for guiding students through online courses, providing feedback and engagement on student activities and responses, and creating a supportive online learning environment.
- Course Navigation and Communication: You will need to navigate the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure course content is accessible to students and provide regular and timely written communication to students.
- Feedback and Assessment: You will provide regular and timely written feedback on student activities and responses, and assess student learning and progress throughout the course.
- Program Engagement and Support: You will be expected to maintain communication with FSI's Continuing Education Program Manager, including questions, concerns, and encouragement, and contribute to the growth and development of the FSI program.
- Time Commitment: Your time commitment will vary depending on the course, but you should be able to spend around six hours per week for eight weeks providing communication, feedback, and oversight of the course.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications:
- Master's Degree: A Master's degree in a field related to theology, education, leadership, sports, or the humanities is preferred.
- Engagement with FSI Programs: Engagement with and understanding of Faith & Sports Institute programs, classes, and initiatives is preferred.
- Teaching Experience: Demonstrated ability to teach, train, mentor, and/or lead others is required.
- Online Communication: Familiarity and confidence with online communication and engagement is required.
- Christian Faith: Evidence of an active Christian faith and a willingness to teach in alignment with Truett Seminary's Statement of Common Faith is required.
- Sports Appreciation: An understanding of and appreciation for the people and culture of sports is required, and personal experience as a sports practitioner is preferred.
