About the Role

As an Online Adjunct Instructor - Visual Communication, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and guiding them towards achieving their academic and professional goals. You will be responsible for teaching online courses in Visual Communication, engaging students in interactive and dynamic learning experiences, and providing individualized support and feedback to ensure student success.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with students through various channels, including phone, email, and online meetings, to provide feedback on student performance and address any questions or concerns.
• Create a supportive and inclusive online learning environment that fosters student engagement, community building, and student-centered learning.
• Develop and implement curriculum and assessments that align with course objectives and industry standards.
• Utilize effective teaching strategies and multiple teaching techniques to promote student learning and achievement.
• Demonstrate mastery of subject matter expertise and stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
• Participate in faculty meetings, programmatic meetings, and committee work as agreed upon by the Dean.
• Complete a minimum of six (6) Rasmussen Educational Units (REUs) annually or two (2) REUs per quarter for each quarter taught, in the areas of Teaching Development and Development in the Discipline.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

• A Master's degree in a Communication-related field, such as Marketing, Communication Studies, Business, or Visual Communication.
• A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in the field of study.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
• Regular access to a computer with the required system specifications (Windows XP or greater, Microsoft Office 2010, and a reliable internet connection).
• The ability to provide official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• Experience with coursework in marketing, media, arts-related fields, such as graphic design, game design, animation, photography, and other creative and technical subjects.
• Teaching experience in an online environment.
• Familiarity with Rasmussen University's online platform and tools.
