Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Group Class Instructor to join our fitness team in North Carolina. As a Group Class Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering fun, effective, and safe group exercise classes to members participating in our programs, including dance, kickboxing, step, boot camp, and circuit training. This is a part-time position, teaching 1-2 classes on Saturday mornings at our corporate client site in RTP, NC.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging group exercise classes that cater to diverse fitness levels and interests
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for participants to achieve their fitness goals
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of exercise techniques, safety protocols, and best practices
- Communicate effectively with participants, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless program delivery
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new program initiatives and services
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Current group exercise instructor certification from a nationally accredited organization (e.g., ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NETA, NCCPT)
- Adult CPR/AED certification from a reputable organization (e.g., American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Safety & Health Institute) within 30 days of hire
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing program requirements and schedules
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications would be advantageous:
- Experience teaching group exercise classes in a corporate or community setting
- Knowledge of exercise science and anatomy
- Ability to develop and lead specialized classes (e.g., yoga, Pilates, Zumba)
- Fluency in a second language
