Job Overview
In Corporate Framework Services (CIS) at arenaflex, we're seeking talented and motivated Information Specialists to take the lead in designing, implementing, and delivering critical data solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the design work of other specialists on the project, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective problem-solving.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient data solutions, leveraging your expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines.
- Ensure the quality, reliability, and security of data solutions through thorough testing, monitoring, and optimization, utilizing your knowledge of data validation, error handling, and data cleansing strategies.
- Build and deliver high-quality data architecture and pipelines to support business reporting requirements, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project needs.
- Monitor data pipelines and proactively identify and resolve any performance or reliability issues, utilizing your expertise in data analysis and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with different teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources, including CSV, Excel, email attachments, SmartSheet, and more.
- Work with business stakeholders, technical teams, and operations teams to address business requirements and deliver against high operational standards of system availability and reliability.
- Develop and optimize software to extend system, application, or tool functionality, improving business processes and meeting end-user needs while working within the overall system architecture.
- Analyze and resolve operational issues, performing detailed root cause analysis and proposing ideas for improvements, utilizing your knowledge of Unix profiling tools and SQL.
- Document data design processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure data sharing and maintain a robust data repository, leveraging your expertise in data governance and data management.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, with a strong foundation in computer systems, data structures, and software engineering.
- Experience providing oversight to data design projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions and leading cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in building, developing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable database systems, including data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines, with a strong understanding of data architecture and data governance.
- Broad experience with AWS technologies, including hands-on experience with AWS Glue, AuroraDB (MySQL) - RDS, Amazon Workmail, Amazon SES, S3, Lambda, Redshift, SQS, IAM (User, Group, Roles, and Permissions), VPC, and infrastructure setup and related components.
- Experience working with modern data structures, Lambda architecture models, and data warehousing solutions, with a strong understanding of data modeling and data analysis.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL, with experience working with large datasets and complex data queries.
- Knowledge and experience with Open Source Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Spark, etc.), with a strong understanding of big data processing and analytics.
- 2+ years of development experience in Python, Ruby, Scala, or other platform-related big data technologies, with a strong foundation in software engineering and data science.
- Knowledge of professional programming practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and deployment.
- Experience building Reporting systems like QuickSight, PowerBI, or others, with a strong understanding of data visualization and business intelligence.
- Knowledge and experience building data warehouse reporting systems for Business Intelligence (any technology), with a strong understanding of data analysis and data mining.
- Experience with responsive design and UI development for data entry systems (Writeback reporting systems), with a strong understanding of user experience and user interface design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SmartSheet, Asana, HoneyCode, or Powerapp, with a strong understanding of project management and workflow automation.
- Javascript and/or React JS knowledge/experience, with a strong foundation in front-end development and user interface design.
- Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Programmer, Business Intelligence Specialist, Data Scientist) with a history of driving, handling, and extracting value from large datasets.
- Experience building data products iteratively and integrating and managing datasets from different sources, with a strong understanding of data governance and data quality.
- Query execution tuning skills using Unix profiling tools and SQL, with a strong understanding of database performance and optimization.
- Experience leading large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS technologies - Redshift, S3, EC2, Data pipeline, and other big data technologies.
- Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases), with a strong understanding of NoSQL databases and data modeling.
