**Job Responsibilities**
As a Staff Data Scientist, you'll be responsible for:
* **Data Source Identification**: Identifying and defining the most suitable data sources for required information, collaborating with external partners as needed, and performing preliminary data quality tests on extracted data.
* **Problem Formulation**: Analyzing business problems within your area of expertise, challenging assumptions, and identifying and recommending solutions to drive business outcomes.
* **Analytical Modeling**: Selecting and developing suitable modeling strategies for complex problems with multiple data sources, conducting exploratory data analysis, and interpreting results to inform business decisions.
* **Model Deployment & Scaling**: Working with MLOps to deploy ML models to production, continuously logging and tracking model performance, and identifying areas for improvement.
* **Code Development & Testing**: Writing code to develop and test solutions, creating test cases, and contributing to code documentation and playbooks.
* **Applied Business Acumen**: Evaluating business cases for initiatives and projects, influencing stakeholder decision-making, and translating business needs into strategies and initiatives.
* **Model Assessment & Validation**: Identifying and evaluating model assessment metrics, applying testing and tuning strategies to evaluate accuracy and robustness, and ensuring testing records are documented and maintained.
* **Data Visualization and Storytelling**: Identifying and recommending visualization tools, generating graphical representations of data and model outcomes, and presenting insights to various audiences.
**What You'll Bring**
* Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and 4 years of experience in an analytics-related field.
* Deep knowledge and experience with machine learning, statistics, and data science.
* Strong programming skills in at least one of Python or R.
* Ability to execute projects from start to finish, including mentoring junior colleagues.
* Experience with implementing best practices in ML Ops, coding standards, and other areas.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations into clear language.
* Ability to work with external partners and stakeholders, including management and outside clients.
