Job Overview
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst and Quality Control Standards Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Quality Control Strategies and Guidelines Group, you will play a crucial role in driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying statistical trends and performance metrics to improve our Quality Control division. This is a full-time, remote work opportunity with a competitive salary of $28/hour, and you will be expected to work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and assist others in the Quality Control team in optimal data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data elements
- Assist in creating and presenting results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical stakeholders and leaders
- Help investigate critical ad-hoc requests resulting from emerging maintenance issues and provide analytical responses to enable senior management to make informed business decisions while balancing existing project responsibility
- Presentation of insights, trends, and potential recommendations using data visualization tools supporting the relevant marks of the analysis to facilitate stakeholder understanding
- Assist in developing and distributing specific queries to pull and integrate data from various sources, establishing the cadence, and validating the necessity of the data requirements
- Identify irregularities in processes through audits and convey findings to the team
- Evaluate the effectiveness of processes and methods by monitoring for trends and anomalies
- Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the center of every decision
- May perform other work duties as directed by the team leader
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Strong ability to collect, organize, analyze critical amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to effectively listen to, understand, and communicate ideas and present written, verbal, or presentation materials to audiences of varying sizes
- Ability to evaluate business issues, identify valuable opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase, is preferred
- Ability to grasp the issue, to summarize, and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning
- Able to use PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications is preferred
- Past internship, capstone projects, and research coursework is preferred
- Able to work effectively in a strong support/team-oriented environment
- Able to commit to responsibilities independently and be a self-motivated individual
- Past internship experience in a related field is preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Ability to plan and support large business initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a relevant field
- Certifications in data analysis or quality control
- Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms
