**Job Summary**
We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Specialist II to join our Animal Services team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and resolving customer issues in a timely and professional manner. You'll also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and performing other administrative tasks as needed.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provide exceptional customer service to customers via phone, email, and in-person
* Answer phone calls and direct them accordingly
* Type letters, reports, forms, and correspondence
* Maintain accurate records and reports on a personal computer
* Perform data retrieval and entry into a software application
* Perform other clerical functions as needed, such as processing mail, filing, and scanning
* Provide support to the Animal Services team, including answering questions and resolving issues
* Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
**Essential Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* One (1) year of experience in customer service duties involving frequent public contact
* Experience in the operation of a personal computer required
* Ability to type accurately on a personal computer
* Ability to communicate effectively with others in person, via telephone, in writing, and online
* Ability to read for comprehension
* Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
* Ability to meet and deal with people effectively
* Ability to use a personal computer and related software
* Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
* Ability to learn the procedures and operations of the unit to which assigned
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
* Experience in the animal services industry or a related field
* Knowledge of standard office methods and procedures
* Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic
* Knowledge of County departments, operations, and regulations
