This role is an integral part of our Payments and Digital Strategy team, focusing on everyday functions related to payment processing, item processing, direct bills, and fund transfers. As a Customer Service Representative, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including contributors, vendors, and other institutions, to ensure seamless and efficient payment processing. Key Responsibilities
- Complete data entry and balancing functions with accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate return items with contributors, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
- Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing
- Work member cases/sports assigned, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
- Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
- Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
- Log, report, and make necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns
- Process Stop Pays and Check Batching, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Complete daily balancing and department closing, maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency
- Obtain information from contributors for the timely and correct processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests
- Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Communicate with vendors to process fund transfers, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service
- Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws, ensuring compliance and adherence to relevant regulations
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Intermediate Excel and Word skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous customer/member service experience, with a focus on providing exceptional service and resolving customer inquiries
- Previous banking or Credit Union experience, with knowledge of payment processing and fund transfers
- Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and software
