As a Member Services Representative, you will be responsible for handling everyday tasks related to check processing, item processing, direct bills, and fund transfers. Key Responsibilities
- Complete data entry and balancing tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
- Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
- Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing
- Work member cases/sports assigned, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
- Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
- Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
- Log, research, and make necessary GL, account changes and/or returns
- Process Stop Pays and Check Batching, ensuring efficient and accurate processing
- Complete daily balancing and department closing, maintaining high levels of productivity and organization
- Obtain information from members for the timely and correct processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests
- Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Communicate with vendors to process fund transfers, building strong relationships and resolving issues promptly
- Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws, regulations, and procedures
- Deposit check returns, research member bad checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing fund transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing fund transfers
- Complete daily processing of workflows associated with late returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Intermediate Excel and Word skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems
- Excellent customer service skills, with a strong focus on providing exceptional service and resolving issues promptly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and responsibilities with ease
- Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to perform calculations and analyze data accurately
- Ability to prioritize work effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain high levels of productivity and organization
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues and members
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous customer/member service experience, with a strong focus on providing exceptional service and resolving issues promptly
- Previous banking or Credit Union experience, with knowledge of financial regulations and procedures
- Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems
