Position Summary
This temporary Customer Service Representative role is designed to provide exceptional support to our members through daily telephone interactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing members to appropriate services, educating them on available resources, resolving issues, and facilitating linkages to our Medical Management Department for service authorizations. Additionally, this role may involve assisting health care providers with eligibility inquiries, benefit questions, and claims resolution, ensuring seamless communication and efficient issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily member telephone calls, addressing inquiries, concerns, and issues in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Direct members to relevant services and resources, ensuring they receive the support they need.
- Educate members on available benefits, services, and health care options to empower informed decision-making.
- Resolve member complaints and issues promptly, escalating complex matters to appropriate departments as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Medical Management Department to facilitate service authorizations and ensure continuity of care.
- Assist health care providers with eligibility, benefit, and claims-related inquiries, promoting efficient and effective communication.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent certification, demonstrating a foundation in academic achievement.
- At least one year of experience in a customer service role, with direct contact with customers via telephone, email, chat, and/or face-to-face interactions, showcasing ability to work effectively with diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- One year of experience in a physician health care office environment or high-volume call center, indicating familiarity with fast-paced, dynamic settings.
- One year of experience and knowledge of HMO, PPO, TPA, PHO, and Managed Care functions, demonstrating a solid understanding of health care operations and terminology.
