Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Customer Assistance Representative to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Customer Assistance Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling customer inquiries, and resolving issues in a professional and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers when they enter the airport or arrive in the ticket area, providing a warm and friendly greeting
- Monitor the ticket counter area to ensure it is in compliance with safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Assist customers with self-service kiosk check-in and bag handling, providing clear instructions and support as needed
- Maintain and troubleshoot kiosk machines, resolving technical issues and escalating problems to IT support when necessary
- Verify that customers' carry-on baggage complies with FAA/blithequark policies, ensuring the safety and security of our passengers
- Check and clear travel documents (e.g., passports, visas) for customers traveling internationally, using the Timatic database and other resources as needed
- Assist customers with checked baggage handling, completing transactions, and verifying weight and size requirements
- Manage lines in ticket counter areas, prioritizing customers based on departure times or type of service required
- Accept and activate customers' self-labeled baggage at the initiation station, ensuring efficient and secure processing
- Physically move baggage throughout the ticket counter area, using manual handling techniques and equipment as needed
- Assist customers with checking their assistive devices, sporting equipment, and other oversized items, ensuring compliance with blithequark policies and procedures
- Refer customers to customer service specialists when necessary, escalating issues and providing support as needed
- Perform identity verification and documentation checks at kiosks, ensuring the security and integrity of our airline services
- Assist with the physical movement of non-ambulatory customers as they board, deplane, or move throughout the airport, providing support and care as needed
- Provide customers with gate information and directions, ensuring they have a smooth and stress-free travel experience
- Perform paging activities (e.g., to report forgotten items, to request customers return to locked bags) at certain airports, using communication systems and protocols as needed
- Perform other related duties as considered functionally necessary by management, consistent with the collective bargaining agreement
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or international equivalent
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently
- Bilingual language skills may be required in certain locations
- Valid driver's license as required by local authorities
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check, and/or fingerprinting to meet blithequark and security requirements
- Must satisfy FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security ID display areas (SIDA), if applicable
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Saber or other Passenger Service Systems
- Prior face-to-face customer service experience
- Experience working in a high-speed environment
