We're now seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Recreational Therapy to lead our Recreational Therapy Department and contribute to our mission of creating opportunities for people to discover hope and live their God-given destiny.
About the Role
As the Director of Recreational Therapy, you will be responsible for the direction and supervision of our Recreational Therapy Department, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care and support. You'll oversee the department's operations, develop and implement treatment plans, and maintain compliance with regulatory laws and standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership: Direct and supervise the Recreational Therapy Department staff, ensuring that they provide exceptional care and support to our patients.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement treatment plans that cater to the diverse needs of our patients, including those with psychosocial, cognitive, and physical disabilities.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Perform assessments and evaluations to determine patient needs and develop targeted interventions.
- Staff Development: Provide education and training to staff members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
- Budgeting and Operations: Assist in formulating the department's budget, evaluate performance versus budget, and take corrective action as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the department complies with all state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, identifying opportunities for growth and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess a unique blend of clinical expertise, leadership skills, and passion for delivering exceptional patient care. Here are the essential qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or a related field.
- Current State Licensure or certification.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a behavioral health care setting.
- At least 2 years of experience in managing a Recreational Activities Department or related department.
- Current BCLS certification.
