About the position
Responsible for leading People & Culture (P&C) initiatives and Human Resource teams for their designated region within the Clean Energy and Infrastructure (CE&I) segment of MasTec. This includes workforce and succession planning, staff and craft level talent acquisition, employee relations of the service line employees, business planning and budget development of P&C programs. Ensures policies, procedures, and P&C programs are consistently administered and aligned with the region's goals and are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements, and laws. Lead strategic P&C frameworks and has overall accountability for and design of Engagement Survey implementation and Action Planning, Performance Management, Development Planning, and Recruitment Strategy. Provide P&C leadership and P&C administrative support for designated region. Partner with P&C functions to drive compliance and initiatives. Location: This position can be located remotely anywhere in Illinois or Indiana. If close to our office, onsite and hybrid schedule is also available. Travel requirement - 40%, or as needed based on business demands.
Responsibilities
• Assist in formulating the Infrastructure group's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
• Analyze overall workforce to develop and implement workforce succession planning initiatives in support of our company vision.
• Participate in the implementation of strategic business plans.
• Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
• Design and implement successful employee performance programs that create synergy between company goals and objectives and employee goals and performance.
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management and executive teams.
• Create strong partnership with other P&C leaders within the MasTec and CE&I organization.
• Create programs that support the attraction, retention, engagement, and motivation of our employees.
• Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced.
• Implement operational best practices controls, systems, etc.
• Provide daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual reporting.
• Conduct research and analysis of organizational and external market trends and present trends, best practices, and areas of improvement to leadership.
• Develop and maintain strong company culture through programs supported within the entire employment lifecycle.
• Maintain compliance and current working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Oversee all employment and HR specific policies and ensure these are accurate and up to date.
• Be accessible to all employees by visiting jobsites on an occasional basis.
• Work with the Director of EHS to ensure OSHA Compliance, physical and pre-employment, and random drug screens are being conducted.
• Respond to all calls of employee concerns and consult with Executive Management as needed.
• Assist in conducting interviews regarding employee complaints of discrimination, hostile work environment, sexual harassment, safety violations, etc.
• Represent Company at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
• Work with legal counsel as employer representative in employment issues as needed.
• Ensure all job-related employment tests as appropriate and necessary for specific positions are performed on all position applicants.
• Partner with P&C group to support employee engagement and affirmative action strategies.
• Work with Learning and Development team to identify and execute training initiatives within the market sector.
• Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
• Monitor all open legal issues involving your group, and legal issues affecting the industry.
• Construct and monitor reliable control systems.
• Report risk issues to the Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, and CFO.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• 10+ years related experience and/or training.
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred.
