About the Role
As a Customer Service Agent - Remote/Hybrid, you will be part of a team that reports to a Supervisor, Customer Experience. You will be responsible for handling a high volume of inbound phone calls, building customer relationships, and resolving customer challenges in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build customer relationships by responding to a high volume of inbound phone calls, providing timely and effective solutions to customer inquiries.
- Work with customers and Sales team members daily to understand their needs, provide product information, and resolve issues.
- Utilize multiple computer programs to manage customer accounts, identify products, place orders, and resolve order-related issues.
- Resolve pricing and invoicing discrepancies, apply credit, and implement return procedures to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency while providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a call center or sales environment.
- Ability to commute to Grainger's facility from your home.
- A secure workspace at home dedicated to job activity, with minimal distractions.
- Proficiency in operating and navigating multiple PC-based programs simultaneously.
- Stable internet connection with speeds greater than 5 megabits per second upload, 15 megabits per second download, and ping less than 80 milliseconds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex customer issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and managing competing demands.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other customer service tools.

Compensation and Benefits
The starting hourly rate for this position is $15.80, with three automatic raises in 12 months bringing your pay to $17.00/hour. Grainger also offers a comprehensive benefits package, as outlined above.
