We are looking for an experienced Computer Vision and 3D Geometry Engineer to work on projects involving LiDAR data processing and RoomPlan integration into USDZ and DXF formats. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer vision techniques, 3D geometry, and experience with LiDAR systems. You will be responsible for developing algorithms and software that accurately interpret and render 3D spatial data. If you have a passion for innovative technology and a strong portfolio in this area, we would love to hear from you.
Overview
We are building a production-grade LiDAR scan → geometry → CAD pipeline using Apple RoomPlan.
The iOS capture layer is already handled in-house. We are looking for a senior contractor to own the CV / 3D geometry pipeline that converts RoomPlan outputs into clean, deterministic downstream formats, primarily USDZ and DXF floor plans.
This is not an AR UI role.
This is a geometry, topology, and export pipeline problem.
What you’ll work on
Processing structured RoomPlan scan data (walls, doors, windows)
Converting scan geometry into:
USDZ (3D)
2D CAD-grade DXF floor plans
Handling real-world scan imperfections:
L-shaped rooms
Enclaves / recesses
Small gaps and misalignments
Producing clean, snapped, layered DXF outputs suitable for professional use
Required experience (must have)
Please do not apply unless you have direct experience in most of the following:
Computer vision / 3D geometry processing
LiDAR, photogrammetry, or spatial capture pipelines
Working with real-world noisy geometry
3D → 2D projection and plan reconstruction
CAD or CAD-adjacent formats (DXF / DWG / SVG)
Strong maths / geometry fundamentals
Strong signal keywords we look for in answers:
snapping tolerances, collinear merge, planar graph, polygon union, face extraction, openings handling, unbounded region / outside face, topology cleanup
Nice to have
Apple RoomPlan experience
ARKit / RealityKit familiarity
C++ / Python / geometry libraries (CGAL, Shapely, OpenCV, Open3D, etc.)
Experience producing files used by architects, surveyors, or installers
Engagement
Contractor (freelance)
Remote (India preferred for this role)
Initial 2–4 week paid project
Likely extension if successful
