We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer with early stage startup experience. A teammate that thrives in ambiguity, is passionate, curious, creative, and detail-oriented will be a great fit. You will become an integral member of our organization, contributing to both product design and development, from strategic planning to hands-on execution.
As a Senior Engineer at Rightfoot you will be working with our existing engineers to design, build, test and deploy new features of our consumer-permissioned financial data platform.
As a Senior Engineer role at Rightfoot, you will:
Use your amazing communication skills, collaborate with others, engage your problem solving skills to build core functionality of our new platform
Engage with your startup mindset, not only identifying problems but suggesting solutions across the board
Act like an owner of Rightfoot and be able to make bold decisions in areas of ambiguity with minimal guidance from the team when necessary (but really, we’ve got your back!)
Constantly ship new things, make mistakes, learn, and do it all over again.
Continuously learn new technology, tools, and techniques, and advocate for and against these new tools as necessary
Be a champion of security best practices

We’re looking for you to have many, but not necessarily all, of these skills. If you’re mostly a match, though, and you’re willing to learn the rest, we’d love to hear from you.
You have worked in a Series-A startup or earlier.
You have 5+ years building backend services for SaaS platforms or similar.
You have 2+ years of Java experience.
You’ve deployed services in Kubernetes or similar container infrastructure.
You know how to employ AI tools to maximize your and your team's productivity.
You are energized by the ability to wear many hats and make significant impacts on the technical direction of the company.
Experience with Kafka or similar distributed event store and stream-processing platform.
Experience with Springboot framework.
A track record of creating and consuming RESTful APIs.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools.
Fintech industry experience.

Rightfoot is based in San Francisco, CA in what we like to think is a fun part of town (Van Ness & Jackson St). You'll be expected to come into the office to collaborate with the team 4 days/ week, and we work from home on Fridays.
