Travelers is a well-established property casualty insurer with a commitment to customer care and community support. The Associate Account Executive will manage a book of business, underwrite customer accounts, and build relationships with agents and brokers to drive profitability and growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business
- Underwrite and negotiate routine customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners within the business unit and across the enterprise to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Foster and maintain relationships with external partners by regularly meeting in person with agents, brokers, and customers to market and sell Travelers products with a goal of writing and retaining accounts consistent with our risk appetite. Must be able to travel to such meetings
- Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills. The sales process to target new accounts has a long runway (6 months to 1 year)
- Execute agency, region, and group sales plans
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree
- One to three years of relevant underwriting experience with experience in National Accounts
- Knowledge of loss sensitive products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market
- Deep financial acumen
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify routine underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and analyze available information to make decisions in alignment with our risk appetite
- CPCU designation
- One year of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience
