They are seeking an Architectural Designer to join their team, responsible for developing architectural design documents, producing detailed technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with building codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of an architect, apply architectural concepts, building code, and zoning requirements to develop architectural design documents to the satisfaction of the client(s)
- Utilize your knowledge of building technology, assembly, construction methodology, to ensure technical excellence in all projects
- Produce detailed technical drawings to effectively communicate building designs to clients, and contractors
- Produce architectural designs and drawings in REVIT
- Prepare and review working drawings, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, including the Ontario Building Code
- Make sure REVIT and BIM requirements, standards and quality are followed
- Develop photorealistic renderings, animated walkthroughs, and comprehensive 3D models is an asset
- Successfully accomplish assigned work within the agreed-upon deadline and budget
- Support project teams, including architects, engineers, and other consultants, on project coordination, as required deliver comprehensive and cohesive project documentation
- Participate in contract administration and shop drawing review processes, contributing to the alignment with project specifications and client expectations
- Maintain project documentation and organization of project files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility
- Contribute to design discussions by formulating and presenting design decisions effectively
- Stay current with industry trends and technical innovations, incorporating new ideas, models and technologies into projects
- Follow sustainable design practices
Skills
- Must have completed or will be completing their Bachelors degree in Architecture or Architectural Technologist Diploma/Certificate in Architectural Technology
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Proficiency in Revit
- Ability to work within a dynamic multi-disciplinary in-house consultant team
- Thorough knowledge of building systems and construction detailing
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Demonstrated strong creativity in design
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to work with various Canadian municipalities for permitting and development approvals process
- Strong conceptual and technical design skills
- Exceptional technical knowledge of building construction and the Ontario Building Code
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
- Candidate must be dedicated to working hard with an all-hands-on-deck attitude towards completing the work efficiently and accurately
